Marianna Henriksson
Harpsichordist Marianna Henriksson studied at the Sibelius Academy (Master of Music, 2010) and at the Berlin University of the Arts (Konzertexamen, 2012). She performs both as a member of various ensembles and as a soloist in Finland and internationally. Her debut solo album, *Frammenti del discorso amoroso*, was released in 2018 and was nominated for Yle's Album of the Year in 2018.
Henriksson particularly enjoys working across multiple musical genres and interdisciplinary arts. In collaboration with choreographer Anna Mustonen, she has created performances that combine early Baroque music with contemporary dance, including Monteverdi's "Maria Vespers" (2018) and a stage work titled "Eros", which is woven around the music of Barbara Strozzi (2022). Her collaboration with choreographer Anna Mustonen was honored with the national award for performing arts in 2018. Henriksson’s diverse musical career to date has also included the premieres and recordings of new harpsichord music, folk music arrangements, participation in a breakdance show’s world tour, and playing in opera productions from Monteverdi and Mozart to Stravinsky and Saariaho.
In February 2024, she led Francesca Caccini's opera "Alcina's Island" at the National Opera's Almi Hall from her instrument. Her doctoral studies at the Sibelius Academy’s Docmus division are nearing completion. Since the beginning of 2023, she has been serving as the artistic planner for the Finnish Baroque Orchestra.
