Emmanuel Laporte
Emmanuel Laporte is one of the most talented and demanded historically informed oboe player of his generation. His repertoire on period instrument ranges from Lully to Mahler and Stravinsky.
In 2023 he recorded Mozart’s oboe concerto with Gli Angeli Genève. He also took part as first oboe with the same ensemble in the complete Bach cantatas recording.
He performed as a soloist at the Berliner Philharmonie, the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Wigmore Hall in London, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, the Bozar in Brussels, the Tokyo Opera City Hall, the Jordan City Hall in Boston, the Bourgie Hall in Montreal among many others.
His chamber music partners include Kristian Bezuidenhout, Maude Gratton, Pierre and Marc Hantaï, Laurence Cummings, Ageet Zweistra, Christophe Coin, Alexis Kossenko, Nicola Boud, Peter Whelan, Amandine Beyer, Manfredo Kraemer, Pablo Valetti, Sophie Gent, Michael Form and many others.
In the press, his tone is described as « delicate and gentle », « suave and refined », « fruity, sensitive, and warm » , or « with a seemingly endless palette of colours ».
Since 2006 he has been invited to play and record as first oboe in the most famous period instrument ensembles such as L’Orchestre des Champs Elysées and La Chapelle royale (P.Herreweghe), Gli Angeli Genève (S. He taught at the prestigious International Händel Academy in Karlsruhe, gave master classes in Argentina and Colombia and is regularly asked to teach in Saintes.
Born in Nantes, he started playing the oboe at the age of 10 years, then studied in Boulogne-Billancourt before entering at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris where he graduated with highest honors in modern and baroque oboe, chamber music, harmony and counterpoint.
