Anna Gebert

Anna Gebert is a sought after chamber musician, concertmaster and pedagogue. She has been a guest leader in over 20 European symphony and opera orchestras, among others Munich, Frankfurt and Stockholm Opera, Helsinki, Odense and Stockholm Philharmonic. Anna performed for ten years in the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and spent a year as a fulltime player in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, after which she was appointed concertmaster in the Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra. Love for the outdoors led her to discover Trondheim, Norway, where she was appointed 1st concertmaster of the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and teacher at the NTNU. There she could also pursue her passion for historical performance with Barokkanerne Oslo, Trondheim Barokk and the Arcorda-Quartet, as well as sea kayaking, skiing and hiking. She also pursued studies of psychology at the NTNU. She has been performing regularly as leader of the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Barokkanerne Oslo and La Scintilla in Zürich. She has appeared at numerous chamber music festivals, including Kuhmo, Ravinia, Staunton, Orford, Helsinki, Oslo Early and Trondheim Chamber Music, Barokkfest, Fejø, Klosters Musik, Braunwald Musikwoche, Engadin and many more. Anna’s teachers include Grazyna Zeranska, Zinaida Gilels, Zoria Chikmurzaeva, Igor Bezrodny, Ana Chumachenco and Miriam Fried. Her baroque violin teachers have been Stanley Ritchie and Walter Reiter. Anna plays on a Joseph Gagliano from 1794. Anna is violin professor at the Zurich University of the Arts and chamber music professor at the Music Academy in Basel.
