Aino Peltomaa

Aino Peltomaa is a Finnish singer and musician, performing widely with medieval, renaissance, contemporary and improvised music. Peltomaa collaborates actively with musicians and artist from different genres and performs regularly in Finland and abroad with internationally renowned conductors and artists. She has studied medieval music with Dominique Vellard, Patrizia Bovi and Guillermo Perez and is often invited to perform as a soloist and with choirs and ensembles. In 2018, Peltomaa directed and performed Ordo Virtutum by Hildegard von Bingen with Kaari Ensemble. She leads and co-leads various ensembles such as Ensemble Gamut!,Peltomaa/Fraanje/Perkola, Harmony of the Spheres, ´k:amos and trio Sufira. Her most recent album ´k:amos with Belgian double bass player Nathan Wouters gathered excellent reviews and was published 2019 by Belgian label Aspen Edities. Her upcoming album with Ensemble Gamut! will be published 2020 by Eclipse Music Finland. Peltomaa also teaches and holds retreats that combine Gregorian chant, meditation and yoga. Her work has been supported by various cultural foundations.
